Linda Sura has been weaving since 1984 and has been my passion since then. She also watercolors, knits, felts, and does some beading.
Linda has had baskets published in 4 basket books, Making New Baskets: Alternative Materials Traditional Techniques, Basket Book for Makers and Collectors, Weekend basketry, and A Basket’s Odyssey. She was a nationally-known basket teacher for over 20 years, with experience in all levels of teaching. Linda is an award-winning contemporary basket maker who uses standard and non-standard materials. Unusual combinations of wire, feathers, beads and reed are often woven into my original designs. Her main designs lately have been watercolor paper (painted on both sides with acrylic paint) then cut through a pasta machine and then woven using traditional techniques. She also paints two watercolor pictures, cuts one horizontal and one vertical and weaves them together.
Linda is currently in the Community Artist Gallery and would like to invite everyone to come see this beautiful gallery.
