Don Zeringue on Display April – June

One day during grammar school I twisted my ankle and could not play baseball. I was “forced”to join a watercolor class for girls. I have intermittently dabbled  with watercolor since.

We moved to New Bern from Louisiana two years ago to be near family. I grew up and lived in a river town; It is fitting to be here in another river town.

After graduating from the Luisiana State University School od Architecture in 1972, I worked in several design offices. Computer imaging did not exist. Sketching was a mandatory skill for communicating ideas as part of the process, culminating in hardline construction  working drawings. My favorite office duty was the preparation of presentation drawings (renderings) meant to give clients clever idea of their building’s appearance. Since retiring I have combined my architectural background and a more focused watercolor technique to keep the fun going.
